# \[7] 6 - Involuntary Commitment Authority

A qualified and licensed Doctor, Clinician, EMT, Paramedic, Law Enforcement Officer, or Judicial member hereby has the authority, under this enforceable code, to involuntarily commit a person to mental or psychological health services or treatment upon conducting a psychological evaluation so long as the qualified professional has probable cause, based on their professional evaluation, to believe that the person is a danger to others or themselves, due to a mental disorder, or is gravely disabled and incapable of caring for themselves.&#x20;

This code has no criminal punitive action. The person shall be committed involuntarily to medical services.&#x20;
