[7] 2 - Possession Of a Controlled Substances

A person who possesses any controlled substance, expect when the substance has been lawfully prescribed to them by a licensed practitioner of medicine or is legally available without prescription is guilty under this code. A controlled substance is either a prescription medication, narcotic except Marijuana. (legal amount of marijuana being 3 ounces)

Misdemeanor Sentence: 5 Month(s) Fine: $500

Examples:

1) Going to a concert with a baggie of cocaine in a backpack. 2) Driving to a friend’s house with Oxycodone in the glove box. 3) Walking to the neighborhood park with a bindle of heroin your pocket
